Last Day Host Preschool

Today was the last day we hosted pre school in our home. We worked on sports skills (catching, throwing and balancing), painted an Moms art, and finally conduct a sink or float experiment. Little W even called me "Miss jayne" as the others call me. cute.

Busy Week

Today we had our 4th session of tumbling, he seems to get the hang of things better but still struggles with following directions.

This morning we went to A 18th month check up. We filled out a Autism screening checklist, he did not say much about that. I asked about her extreme dry skin and he said to put vaseline after bath. Finally, she still has labial adhesion. So back on premarin treatment for the next 10 days and 30 days vaseline. As far as height, weight and head circumference she is on a positive trend.
A lunch date with daddy at Olive.

Tomorrow I teach preschool last time we are doing physical actvities (pe games) lacrosse balls, volley ball hit.  mothers day craft and play.

Friday I work in jr high 8th grade math, thank goodness only an hour. Full half time pay.

Life as a SAHM

Well we are now into the 11 month of my "mission".  I feel as long as we have plans and stay busy, days seems to go by pretty fast.  I am missing school a lot less, but still miss the collaborative feel of a nurturing school enviroment.

Lately, W has been taking tumbling class and I like it but he has a hard time staying still. Plus, following directions the first time. Making eye contacts. In the end, he stays active and it gets us out of the house.  While W is in tumbling, A is in child care so I can even sneak out 20 minutes during his session and spend some quality time with my self.

Tomorrow we have lunch date with daddy, another perk of being a SAHM.

Tumbling Day 2

He was much better this time. With sister at child watch I was able to focus on him. He still struggles to listen the first time and follow directions so I must keep watching that. Sure keeps our week busy!

Today he said where is the toy "white" grandpa gave me? that was cute referring to Paul.

Tumbling class

Today was first tumbling class for Wes. First he went to usual daycare, then we went to the class. In between,I'm even got my first try of adaptive yoga, felt bad I had to leave early though.  Now on to tumbling class for a full 50 minutes kids start with running, then stretching, and finally, divides into 4 centers. Different sports skills such as catching , throwing, tumbling seems like fun, then end with a stamp on hand.

Hopefully because it's day one but he just could not sit still and follow directions. Most of the teachers knew his name by the end of class and not in a good way. About middle of it I was about to give up, but the teachers were very good about including him. I'm impressed about that for essentially a six dollar class.

We will try again on wed and hope for the best. The good thing about this new routine is that when the class ends at one o'clock, both kids are tired and napping.

Cleaning Out

I am working on putting all my files into digital. This way I don't have so many files. Of course this is on top of watching the kids all day. Highs and lows with kids that is for sure.

Its time for spring cleaning anyways.

Last Chinese Job

Today I went to my last Chinese job of the school year. A first grade class, boy did I have my work cut out for me.  They were good at speaking Chinese, but many times I wonder do they understand me? A few did. That's why I liked teaching Second Chinese just because they have had more experience with it.

There was a gal's birthday we celebrated today and we sang it to her normal chinese style. But second time I taught them to add flair to it (aka randy) it goes...

祝你生日快乐cha cha cha x2

祝你生日快乐 (funny high roller coaster sound)

祝你生日快乐cha cha cha

With out it being your homeroom class, you can't have as much fun with them because your constantly dealing with classroom management.  Like today two kids had their tooth fall out and that distracted our plans.

Good bye Chinese, hello! middle school for next few weeks.

Consignment

So the kid store refuse to buy my baby travel system, I am trying to sell it online. See what happens.
They would only give me $5 for the stroller anyways, so it is worth a try. It's a good deal. Let's see if any bites.

Busy Monday

We went to town to get bike helmets for the kids. This attorney sells it for only $5/ else where it is about $20. Then we went to Chick fila in Murray and kids made new friends at play place. I was happy because I did not have to his playmate and they played for an hour.  Finally, we went to Gong's house and ate and left at 1:30pm.

I got two colors on purpose so I could quickly grab the one I needed for the kids.
Her new push and ride four buck, a bit expensive but cute!
His new train set for Ten but worth much more. Very cute starter kit.

Scare Moment

Oy!  Yesterday, Wes put a jelly bean up his nose and was crying for 15 minutes from the discomfort. Thank goodness, the candy dissolved and the candy finally felt out of his nostril. Of course he ate it. Gross and relief.

18 months words

Miss A at 18 months is now pointing and saying this, this....it is what brother said prior to talking.

Cold Wednesday

Today it snowed. We've been as high as 70 degrees just a few days ago and today was quite a change. I am better on Wed. I feel emotionally better, as we go through the week. Mon and Tues often I feel sorry for myself then I dont feel so hot.

Today we went to storytime, and I love this one because W gets 25 minutes away from mommy and likewise.  Next week we have another normal week then it would get busier, because I signed him up for tumbling. A change is good for all of us.

Still look in the job postings, but think of all the good times I will miss doing with my kids. Rec Center, story times, preschool, field trips to the community.  This is only temporary, enjoy it while it lasts .

Black Chinese

I was listening and watching Chinese youtube and
Wes said ma "is this gongxi, gongxi?"
I said "Yes it is Chinese and you are Chinese then asked what is Ari."
Wes said "Mama is Chinese and Ari is Chinese"
I asked "Then what is dada?"
Wes said "daddy is black/gongxi gongxi"

Easter Egg Hunt

Today we drove to SP for egg hunt but was 10 minutes late of start time hence when we got there most were leaving. Then I said our next one we must get there early. Indeed, we were 30 minutes early and waited with kids it was chilly but tolerable.  Finally when he said go, B got the boy and I got baby girl, while they just got 20 candies, I manage to get 3 eggs with a little candy for the kids.

So that is what it is about. Over 200 or more people I say. Even had drone plane taking shots of everyone by the rotary club.

8th grade job

These 14 year olds I am not used to.  Even though I was only there for half of period 6 and all of period 7 it is the only reason why I did it. Short.  Last period had two kids who slough. I called the office and told on them plus e-mail their teacher.  A good example I am not in second grade anymore.  I was having difficulties turning on the video roku device and I asked for help, no one volunteered.  Then I said come on you all are in the 8th grade all of you are tech savvy. Finally, a gal came up to assist.  If they were second graders they would all want to jump in to help.

Glad I did it, I am a elementary teacher.

What worked

-Classroom management- all call the clap worked to get their attention and " I can wait..."
-Proximity- Walking around the class to make sure all was on task. Most kids were good.

What need to work on

-Secondary kids like a person with good sense of humor.

Just another day

Today I felt quite successful. While W was at preschool , A and I went shopping.  I made them ck noodle soup using the thigh meat that I bought. For dinner I made chilli with half can of beer and it was sooo good.  Less stressful when dinner and cleaning are all done.

tomorrow I get to sub in a jr high setting. 8th grade science, the kids I will have will be the kids who are Not going to track meet. I don't know what that means but just prepare to take authority.
