Life with a 3.5 year old and 17 months old is very messy, dirty, exausting job. But when they both tell you I love you when you put them to bed, it is satisfying.
17 months old A can run, chatter box, has several dramatic toddler moments where she is inconsoleble. Life can be very challenging. I think I am deaf from her cries.

Chinese Charter
A first in subbing in a Charter chinese school. the two classes were very chatty and downright disrespectful (talking over each other, not listening, fooling around) Finally, I had to tell one class in English, this behavior is not okay. they were surprised but obey, for about ten minutes.
What was most interesting about this subbing experience was that the "world language specialist" came by to see me twice and even gave me a $20 gift card plus she wanted me to come work for them. She even said the difference with charter schools is that they can negotiate your pay.
Just thought that although this experience was the longest I traveled 30 minutes for an assignment, but it sure was worth for the affirmation and recognition.
Live it up, mama! Your unstoppable.

Post office field trip
I have to admit this field trip was a bit dry for the little kids. My boy and another were messing around. We (the moms) did get to see the inside of an post office and see how they work.
Still glad we went. Next month animal shelter.

Sick Tuesday
Our second day at home. Baby vomited this morning, both still have runny nose from weekend. Pre school was also cancelled due to lady having sick child.
Still thinking about going to our job meeting for today...cancelled it. It' wouldn't be right to get other kids sick.

New adventure of old Jeanwae
Got a call regarding position for Chinese pre school teacher in Provo. A gal from byu is setting up a shop for Chinese, Spanish and French immersion pre school. She already found qualify applicants for French and spanish but has yet found Chinese.
With my concerns, she seems like she really wants me.
I bring 10 year teaching experience, masters in education, and certified teacher. She is willing to work with me and said ari can come to school too. I told her I cannot commit to 100% , because it is 4 days a week, 3 hours a day. She even said I can work two days a week and she find someone else to make the other 2 days.
With ari she said I can bring her until Xmas and then reevaluate, esstientally the first 4 months. That means the both of them can go to school with me.
I tell b it just feels good to have purpose outside of our daily routine, and to be able to continue my craft even if it's Chinese teaching in pre school.

Kindy Again
This was a high energy class that I sub in before so, it helped that many remember me from before.
Cute things said by kindergarteners:
In the class there is a boy named W with down syndrome, they asked "is your son down syndrome too?"
Regarding W , it was hard for me to understand, so one kid interpret for me what he said and said proudly, " I speak W"
Little sad leaving my own babies to frazzled Gong.

gong xi gong xi
w is knowing more and more chinese. the other day when we went to the CNY celebration he said to his dad "gong xi, gong xi" which means chinese party. tonight during bedtime, he picked up a chinese book and said to me "mama, gong xi gong xi" which means chinese.
Gong Gong Here
B has been out for the last two days, today at 9am Gong came to help. It was nice to have him here so I can get in my dental appointment. My new dentist is a former student;s dad, how funny, very nice facility. When I returned I took all to have lunch as KFC, then we went to SP playground and play for an hour. Poor girl wanted to sleep when we came home but brother only stay in his room for 30 minutes and started making noise, which interuppted her nap. We went to play out in the backyard for about an hour and came in to eat dinner. We play our homemade play dough and it was bath time. How nice to have him here so I can shower for more then 5 minutes. Now, at 8:30pm it is quiet and peaceful.
Sushi Kids
For variety I took the kids to try sushi tonight. First time ever with the two of them in a restaurant. It started out hairy, because the boy missed his nap and was awoken from his car nap. He was crying loud and it got the girl going since she realized we were at a new place. I ordered quickly, and minutes later our nice server brought miso soup and rice for the kids. Funny, as soon as they saw there was food, both calm right down. While w prefer only miso and rice, a ate the above and four or five sushi rolls. For dessert the server even brought us 3 scoops of ice cream. For 31 dollars, I didn't have to worry about cooking or cleaning up. I'm happy about that. |

Lehi Chinese Party
I took the family to Lehi Chinese party and for $1/person it was quite fun. W had chinese word "sheep/ yang" written on his face and of course he had to have a spider web! Then we walked to the concessions $5/ meal and they were already running low on food and the event had not even started yet!
Ideas for Chinese party:
Chinese yo yo
Calligraphy
Zodiac hat
shadow puppets
Lion dance
Instruments
Chinese food
Face painting
Ma jong
Tai chi
We then went to walk around the gym and A had a good time with the lion dancers, and dragon dancers also performed a mini concert for the little ones..very nice. Next, we went to do chinese yo yo and shadow puppets were a hit. But I think he's favorite were the chinese drums and gong. Overall, good intro to the chinese culture. As for the people, as B put it, I was the minority at a majority event. Haha.

Kangaroo Zoo is a Zoo
On this President's holiday, I decided to take kids to this active play facility. For $11 dollars W could run, climb, play and slide to his heart's content. Poor A was not feeling it. She stay mostly in my arms. Because of the holiday it was super busy. Glad we were the first customer there, and had some quiet time to explore. Bottomline, I would not go regulary, but once in a while it is okay.

Chinese 4th
Yesterday, I sub in an old acquintance classroom. She used to work for the state and we attend meetings together. Her classroom is beautiful, warm and inviting! The chants she use to direct students are great. 6,7,8, 刷刷刷 and they all have their hands up.
4th grade Chinese can definately do more, during center time they were acting out old vocabulary words. It was great fun to participate and watch.
Truth is I think most of the White American Chinese teacher's classroom were 100 times better than the asians.
You can tell her classroom is different because she utilize all the knowledge and experience we used in state meetings.

Funny kid
Yesterday we took the kids to Costco and playground next to it. What suprised and shocked me was when in the middle of play, my son whipped out his penis and starting to go right there in the playground wood chips. Oy! I was mortified, while Bryce pretended W was someone else's kid.

After dental office cancel on me, I ran an errand and took the kids to a new park. We play for an hour, then on the spur of the moment I took them to old school and play for another hour. Then we chat with old co workers for another 30 minutes. We got home at 1:00pm that was a good day for all.
